Documentarian. Director. Producer. Full Time Explorer. Likes stories.

Caroline is a documentarian, radio/podcast producer, filmmaker and experimental installation artist. She seeks out off-the-radar venues for her documentary work - from buildings slated for demolition, public parks, and flooded city streets, to empty campgrounds and film festivals.

As an independent radio producer, her work is featured on Maine Public Radio, NPR, Marketplace, BBC, Kitchen Sisters, KEXP, WMPG Community Radio, in podcasts and more. Her films have appeared in the NYT, Camden International Film Festival, Rooftop Films, and museums. She enjoys frequent collaborations with other artists, and often guest teaches in local schools. She has taught a workshop at Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, in Maine.

Caroline’s work is often about people and places outside the mainstream. Through stories, oral histories and recreated narratives, she explores tall tales and truth. She considers a microphone a pretty great way to learn about people and their lives.

She grew up on the shores of Lake Erie near Cleveland and now lives in Maine, after detours in British Columbia, North Dakota, and Washington. She has a BA in Environmental Science from Oberlin College. She has lived on three islands and isn't afraid to live on another.
