I love teaching, learning, and sharing within the communities where I live and work. I regularly lead classes, workshops and special audio-story related events at arts organizations + local schools, colleges and universities.

I've taught + guest lectured + led special audio + podcast +storytelling workshops at:

SALT INSTITUTE FOR DOCUMENTARY STUDIES/MECA (2021)
I created + taught a short virtual course "Centering the Music in Audio Storytelling" that was part of the Continuing Studies. Featured special guest visits Hanif Abdurraqib (poet, cultural critic, author, podcaster); Davia Nelson/Kitchen Sisters; Anastasia Tsioulcas/NPR Music + Culture

UNIVERSITY OF MAINE ORONO (2025)
2025 Symposium Guest - "From Talkies to TikTok: 100 years of audiovisual storytelling"
I screened and shared some of my films and audio works and visited classes to meet with students and discuss life and times as a documentarian in Maine.

ATLANTA FRINGE, PODCAST JUDGE (2025- 2022)
Serve as a judge for the independent audio category of Atlanta Fringe Audio, the podcast network of the Atlanta Fringe Festival! It is the only festival in the fringe circuit with a dedicated platform for audio artists.

CAPE ELIZABETH MIDDLE SCHOOL (2023)
I created + co- taught, with my pal + audio engineer Alice Anderson, a month long AUDIO STORYTELLING workshop from start to finish, with three middle school classes. Students learned how to use equipment, prepare for and conduct good audio interviews, listen with the ear, pull gold tape, write scripts, think about sound design and use a DAW to create short podcast episodes. With teachers Sashi Kaufman and Morgan Kerr.
